Turnstiles & Bollards

A turnstile, also called a baffle gate or turnstyle, is a form of gate that allows one person to pass at a time, it can also be made to enforce one-way traffic of people.  In addition, a turnstile can also restrict passage only to people who insert a coin, a ticket, a pass, etc., for additional security and control.

Turnstiles are often used for secured entry control, asset protection, patron counting, and crowd control.  Fence Consultants of West Michigan is proud to offer a wide selection of turnstile sizes: optical turnstiles, full height turnstiles, waist high turnstiles, and pedestrian gates. This selection of turnstiles is available to meet your physical access control requirements.

A bollard is a short post used to create a protective or architectural perimeter.  Bollards can be used as a visual guide or mark boundaries and come in a wide variety of shapes and styles to accentuate or visually stand out in their settings.

Bollards can be constructed to physically block vehicle incursion, protecting people and property and can be made from almost any material, depending on their need and function. However, most bollards are made of metal, stone cement or plastic.

Fence Consultants of West Michigan offers operable retractable bollards, also known as telescopic bollards, that are movable to allow vehicular access without needing storage. Retractable bollards can be lowered into the ground automatically, which is especially helpful for mixed-use public spaces, as they can be raised and lowered for different events, to allow vehicle traffic, or to grant access to seasonal places.
