Creating your ideal gate and access control system can seem daunting, but the professionals at Fence Consultants of West Michigan are here to help. We have been serving the Grand Rapids and Holland areas for 30 years and have seen almost every situation and scenario.
We believe that every home and business owner should feel safe, that is why we have created a guide to residential and commercial security.
Access control systems often have an entry gate, which moves access from the door to the perimeter. Though it is not necessary, entry gates are commonly paired with some type of surveillance. Fence professionals can set it up so that the gate may be released remotely for visitors.
ENTRY GATE OPTIONS INCLUDE:
Slide Gate Operators
Though commonly used for commercial gate systems, slide gates are also a great choice for residential gates, especially if your home has steep grades that don’t allow for the use of a swing gate. To guide the gate and keep it upright, slide gates have V-groove wheels on a track, along with gate roller guides. A mooring point stabilizes the gate in the closed position from the opposite post.
Swing Gate Openers
The two most commonly used types of swing gate openers are linear arm and swing arm. Linear arm operators are frequently installed in residential properties, as it’s easy to set up and is the more aesthetically pleasing option. Swing arm operators, on the other hand, are more durable and can open faster.
Overhead Gate Openers
Usually seen in apartment buildings and townhouses, overhead gate openers allow traffic to keep flowing — even if there’s a power outage. This automated gate opener option stands up to high traffic as well as extreme wear and tear.
